Warm market = People you know, but don’t talk with often (e.g. primary school friends, ex colleagues, etc.)

Never ever start with, “Hey, how are you?”. That’s the worst opener ever.

4 ways to reconnect with them as your opener
  1. Invite them for an event. (Class gathering, Networking event, seminar etc.)
    1. Either they accept the invitation or not. 
    2. If they do accept the invitation, you can reconnect with them at the event itself
    3. Even if they don’t accept the invitation, at least you started a new conversation. This is a very good chance to build rapport. 
“Oh no worries, join us for the next event then! 
Anyway, how have you been! I heard you recently went to Europe?”
  1. Comment on their social media posts. (Facebook post, instagram story, Snapchat story etc.)
    1. Once they reply to your comment, you can private message them. 
  2. Hey ___, coffee soon?
  3. Hey ___, have you heard about the recent news about (e.g. US - China Trade agreement)?
